Job Description:
First United Methodist Church Child Development Center is currently seeking a qualified Director to oversee the center. We are looking for a leader who is a self-starter, has great communication skills (communicating well with staff, parents, and children), knows how to handle all the logistics of running a childcare center, and who truly wants to make a difference in the lives of children. Our primary objective is to provide a fun atmosphere that supports the education and safety of the children. CDA required, 4-year degree preferred.

Responsibilities: Managing the center’s budget, payroll and financial success. Hiring, supervising, and training staff. Operating the center in accordance with state licensing standards. Assist/train teachers in development and execution of curriculum and activities that contribute to the growth, education, and development of the children in the center. Purchase supplies, equipment, food, etc. while operating within budgetary guidelines. Develop community partnerships and marketing strategies. Ensure the safety of the children in the center. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, CDA, and at least 1 year of childcare center director experience, preferred. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be at least 21 years of age. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Must be a team builder, organized and possess excellent communication skills. Must be flexible and energetic, have the ability to juggle multiple duties, and be detail-oriented with the ability to plan and organize. Must have the ability to resolve conflicts. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and have the ability to learn other programs quickly.
