Assistant Head of Early Childhood

Job Summary:
The Assistant Head of Early Childhood works in coordination with the Head of Early Childhood providing daily oversight for all programs within Early Childhood (including Toddler, Three’s, and PreK). This includes assisting with all aspects of compliance with licensing and program regulations. The Assistant Head plays a key administrative role within the Early Childhood part of school programming.
Assist in managing aftercare staff and schedules
Lead and manage 8 week summer programming in coordination with the Head of Early Childhood
Assist in giving tours to new and prospective families
Maintain student attendance, sign in records for licensing, and classroom student files in Blackbaud
Maintain Professional Development Records for all ECE Staff
Edit weekly Friday Notes through Bloomz to all existing ECE families
Manage all supply orders for EC teachers, classroom budgets and staff with
Head of Early Childhood Education approval
Maintain records from all staff meetings and/or meetings ECE related
Assist in Better Beginnings and other accreditations
Assist with new hire reference checks and interviews
Maintain classroom staffing and ratios according to licensing requirements
Help coordinate fire, tornado and school emergency drills
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Able to learn relevant technology and use learning management systems
Safely lift a child or children with total weight of 50 pounds
Conduct activities involving substantial standing, walking and moderate sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching on a frequent basis

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Education/Early Childhood related field or Child Development Associate degree required
Five or more years of early childhood experience is preferred
CPR certification required within first 6 months of employment
Ability to complete all Director’s Training requirements within the first year of employment
