The Arkansas Early Childhood Association is starting a new initiative to help address the issue of low pay in our workforce. Step Up to WAGE$ is an education-based wage supplement plan that will temporarily pay semi-annual stipends to teaching staff in licensed child care centers and family child care homes.

AECA is looking for a Step Up to WAGE$ Counselor for this program. This person will perform case management duties and will be responsible for processing and maintaining program applications, verifying official transcripts and employment work hours, as well as providing guidance to participants and employers about the program. We are looking for someone with outstanding organizational skills as well as attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to work remotely and without direct supervision is required. Applicants must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or related area) and have at least two years of experience in the early childhood administrative field. Previous data entry experience, knowledge of state ECE degree programs and ability to interpret college transcripts are all a plus. This position will work from a home office and must be located in the Benton County area.

Salary Range is $33,280-37,440 ($17-18 per hour) plus paid holidays, paid time off, insurance allowance and ability to participate in 403(b) savings plan. This position is grant-funded through Arkansas Department of Human Services and shall remain open until filled. Interviews will be scheduled the second half of June.
