As most of you may know, the AECA Conference Committee recently sent out a survey to get some feedback on our October conference and how everyone is feeling right now about travel and COVID-19. We wanted to share with you the results of that survey:
🔵 52% of people are still very or extremely worried about the impact of coronavirus on their programs
🔵 Only 28% of those surveyed say they have returned to a physical work place in some form.
🔵 Most importantly, 39% of you stated you would not attend a physical conference this year due to concerns about COVID-19. This is a greater number than those who said they would attend.
Taking into consideration your feedback plus not knowing if programs will allow staff to travel and what type of social distancing recommendations will be in place at the Wyndham Hotel, the Conference Committee has made the sad but necessary decision to cancel the face-to-face conference this year in North Little Rock.
Almost 90% of you responded you would either participate or might participate in a virtual online conference depending on the content.
Therefore, the conference committee will begin work on this idea and see what options we can present to you for a virtual Teamwork Makes the Dream Work event this October.
If you have already submitted a proposal for the conference, we will be reaching out to you to see if you are interested in presenting your topic in an online forum.
