Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Expand knowledge of child care issues and kindergarten readiness, by creating and providing information to providers, school districts, families, and community organizations.
  • Plan special event activities quarterly, such as guest speakers, family engagement, and exhibits, and coordinate publicity for events, scheduling the use of facilities and equipment.
  • Stay within budget, negotiate contracts, inventory supplies and equipment, and initiate purchase requests, as needed.
  • Prepare various reports on activities, assist in securing grants to support activities, solve problems associated with special events, and collaborate with other agencies.
  • Knowledge of data collection and programs necessary to collect data.
  • Maintain and submit data and information for grant required reports.
  • Knowledge of marketing and public relations.
  • Distribute outreach materials to recruit child care providers, school districts, families and community organizations to participate in monthly committee meetings geared towards kindergarten readiness.
  • Develop record keeping procedures, and disseminate information to program participants and funding sources concerning new programs or changes.
  • Stay current on child care resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion at all times.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the resource and referral agency at all times.
  • Travel in 13 county region, state events and conferences.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
  • Degree in Early Childhood, Marketing or other relevant subject area (BA/BS, Master’s level preferred)
  • Experience planning and coordinating special events for Early Childhood parents and providers.
  • Experience communicating with Early Childhood Professionals, Communities and Families.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
  • Proficiency in Adobe In-Design, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone
