Hey y’all! Wow! What an amazing year. I wanted to thank you so much for your membership in AECA and for your help in making this year and its theme – Linking Hearts and Minds: Early Childhood Connections – a huge success.
I chose this theme because I feel like connection is the heart of everything that we do. The most base, important thing in terms of how we relate to families, to children, to each other. And I also chose it because I feel like it’s what binds us – it’s what makes us who we are in this field, and what makes us motivated to do the work that we do every single day.
As we go into the end of this year, I challenge you to think about the connections that you’ve made this year – with children, with families, with colleagues. As you think about those connections and those relationships that you’ve forged, maybe that you’ve strengthened, I challenge you to go into this next year thinking about how you can continue this really important work.
I want you to understand how valuable you are – not only to these children that you serve every single day and to their families – but to this field. It truly wouldn’t be the same without you. AECA appreciates you and I appreciate you, thank you.
