Kristen Valley is currently the Parent Engagement Professional for the North Little Rock School District at Boone Park Elementary School. Prior to her position as a Parent Engagement Professional, she taught Pre-K for 5 years for Boone Park Elementary. In addition, she has over 15 years of experience at all levels of public and private education. She has been a teacher, assistant director, and mentor. She attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she earned her Bachelor in Science degree in Human Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in Child Development.

Kristen has made meaningful impacts on students and families in the districts and communities she has served. Kristen was recently named the 2019 PBS Kids Early Learning Champion for the state of Arkansas. She along with 9 other peers around the United States will embark on a two-year mentoring program that will allow foster professional growth. With support from PBS KIDS and local PBS station AETN, they will explore unique in-person and digital experiences, forge pathways for their own professional development, build meaningful relationships with peers from across the country, create content and develop and implement their ideas in their communities and classrooms.

Kristen is passionate that all children can learn. She believes in equipping parents, families, and caregivers with the best resources to help them be successful. Kristen believes that creating a partnership with parents, families, and teachers will form deeper relationships to bridge gaps in learning.
