Hello AECA members, colleagues and friends!
We hope you saw our post on Tuesday giving you some details about the upcoming Kids Count Day at the Capitol – February 14th, Valentine’s Day!
We know that February 14th is a big day in many of our programs so we have designed a way for you to represent your program at the Capitol. We are asking for your help in creating 3000 Valentine hearts to share during our visit to the State Capitol! ❤️️❤️️❤️️
We would like to have enough Valentine hearts for each state leader to receive hearts from their represented areas. With a goal of collecting 3000 Valentines, we can ensure that each of our leaders will have their own collection of hearts.
You’ll need to get started in January so our postal system will have time to get them to us and we will have time to sort and put them in a special envelope for each state leader. Please get started and put in the mail on or before 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.
Please help us get these heart templates into the hands of little ones and then ultimately in the hands of our leaders. Let your heart be heard at Kids Count Day at the Capitol.

Simply download and print the heart template from our website (or use your own version!):

Invite your little one to use safe drawing or art materials to decorate the heart. Allow for creativity!
Here are some ideas to get you started:
❤️️ Children may wish to paint their hearts, use markers, create a collage.
❤️️ You may wish to draw your own heart or use your own heart template.
❤️️ Children may wish to draw a picture within their heart.
❤️️ You may wish to dictate what children say about their heart.
❤️️ You might consider posting photos of your children creating their art or holding their Valentine at #eceworkforce or email photos to communications@arkansasearlychildhood.org (please make sure you have family permission before sharing photos of children)
Please include the following on the back of the heart:
Child’s first name and age, program name and city.
