Hello AECA members, colleagues and friends!

I am writing to you today to share about a wonderful opportunity for our profession that is coming up soon.

AECA has long been an active member of the Kids Count Coalition. Every other year during the legislative session, the Kids Count Coalition hosts Kids Count Day at the Capitol. You can read more about Kids Count Coalition here: https://www.aradvocates.org/kids-count/kids-count-coalition/

🤝 YOU have a chance to learn about the legislative process and connect with your elected officials and fellow advocates.

👂 But most importantly, elected officials have an opportunity to learn from YOU.

✅ Who better than the ECE professionals of AR to share information with our state leaders about the needs of children and families that you see EVERY DAY!

This year may be more important than most because so many of our state leaders are NEW to their job. If they don’t hear from you, how can they make the best decisions about Arkansas’s youngest citizens and the adults that care for them?

What to Expect:

🔊 The day will start with a rally in the rotunda of our beautiful state capital.

❓ There will be LOTS of Kids Count Coalition members ready to help answer your questions and find your way around the building.

You’ll be able to watch legislative committee meetings, have lunch with legislators, tour the Capitol and more! The event is free, but space is limited.

🗓 When: Tuesday, February 14 starting at 9:30 a.m.

📍 Where: Arkansas State Capitol and surrounding locations; 500 Woodlane Street, Little Rock, AR 72201

👉👉👉 Register here:

We NEED folks there that can represent our colleagues throughout the state!

❤️️ If you work directly with children, we know that Valentine’s Day is a BIG Day in most programs. So, we’ll be sharing additional ways of participating on that day.
