Dear Early Childhood Workforce Friends,

Have you heard the news? The Office of Early Childhood recently announced an opportunity for child care workers in Arkansas to receive tuition waivers for their own children who are enrolled in licensed early childhood programs who participate in the Child Care Assistance Program. This compensation celebrates our early childcare and education workforce as they serve the children and families of Arkansas. This is a cost saving for your family AND reflective of an increase in wage that can go towards other needs of your family.

Our ECE workforce remains the foundation preparing our children for today and their tomorrows. The workforce which all other workforces depend upon. Early Childhood Workforce, the heart of Arkansas communities.

The application can be found here in English and here in Spanish and must be submitted to oec.familysupport@ade.arkansas.gov. You can find more information in this letter here.

This added support for our state’s early care and education workforce is one of the three prongs of AECA’s 2024-25 Policy Agenda. Thank you to those who have advocated for the early childcare and education workforce to be recognized and considered as we move forward as a state. And thank you to Arkansas’ Office of Early Childhood for making this request from the federal Office of Child Care.

AECA Public Policy Chair
