I know that it has been a trying time, and we all need some normalcy. It is that time of year when the Arkansas Early Childhood Association (AECA) solicits nominations for its Outstanding Member Award and the Kathy Stegall Emerging Leader Award. The criteria for both awards is listed below.

If you have someone that you would like to nominate for either award, please send the name and a short statement of why you recommended the person to paul@arkansasearlychildhood.org. The deadline for application is 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬.

𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮
 Has been a member in good standing of AECA for a minimum of five years
 Has shown active leadership in both the local and state organizations
 Has been actively engaged in early childhood activities in Arkansas
 Has a record of interest and participation in activities of AECA and demonstrates a knowledge of AECA aims and objectives
 Is nominated by a local affiliate or by a current AECA member by the deadline stated in the request for nominations. A nomination from an affiliate must be signed by the affiliate President.
 Cannot be a current member of the AECA Board

𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮
 Has been a member in good standing of AECA for a minimum of 3 years
 Has been in the field of early care and education and/or youth development in Arkansas for a minimum of 3 years
 Has not previously received the award

While we normally present these awards at the conference in October, this year will be different. As soon as a decision is made on the presentation, we will let everyone know. Thanks for your consideration and stay safe.
