Hi guys, my name is Cody Steussy. I am the Assistant Executive Director for the Rogers Activity Center. I am also your Treasurer for the Arkansas Early Childhood Association and President-Elect for the Northwest Arkansas chapter.
I have a degree from Northwest Arkansas Community College in Early Childhood Education. I really focus there on building a foundation of understanding how people grow and learn through the early years—and that passion has never left, I really just try to expand it. So today, whether it’s programming, fitness classes, recreational programs… we have a hub here that serves thousands of children and adults every year.
So, I am also as equally at home on the fitness floor. I am a certified yoga, cycle, x-former, pop pilates, and about 10,000 other formats. And I truly believe in creating a space that allows you to challenge your body, quiet your mind, and just show up more fully—not just in the classroom, but in life. I fully believe that movement is more than physical health, and it’s about building confidence and resilience that carries through everything else you do.
I am currently finishing my Organizational Management degree at Arkansas Tech. Excited to be a member of the TEACH program and just continuing to deepen and understand my leadership philosophy, that I’m really trying to root in empowering others, being smart about the questions I ask, and just building an environment where people feel safe to grow and thrive.
So whether I’m here at the RAC, I’m working with AECA, I’m teaching at Body Balance, I’m showing up in a boardroom… I try to just bring genuine care and connection to the people in my room and belief that community is built one connection at a time. I look forward to connecting with each one of you at conference every year, and around town, around the community.
