Dear AECA friends,

Conversations around a new COVID-19 relief package are still ongoing and we need your help in contacting members of Congress to ask for increased emergency funding for child care. The current proposal on the table includes only $10 billion for child care, which is not enough to stabilize the industry. Previously, the Senate floated a proposal of $15 billion and the recent House proposal included $57 billion.

Congress can and should increase funding for child care and we need your help as this may be our last opportunity to make a difference for young children, families, and child care programs. Click on the links below to send a pre-drafted email, tweet, or place a phone call to Congress — it only takes 2 minutes to do all 3!

The message: Congress: Prioritize COVID relief that includes at least $50B in dedicated funding for child care. That’s what families and their children want and need.

Call/Email the U.S. Senate and House: This document includes a script and instructions for calling U.S. Senate and House offices, and text that anyone could copy and paste into an email to your U.S. Senators and Representatives.

Please share this information with your colleagues, families and your personal contacts. We need as many people as possible to not only be aware of what is happening, but to TAKE ACTION also.

Will you be one of the voices that speaks up to save child care today?
