I am excited to tell you about a new opportunity to connect with colleagues throughout the year!
This year AECA has re-imagined our traditional October face-to-face conference to bring you several one-day mini-conferences on Saturdays throughout the rest of 2020 and 2021. Like most aspects of our lives, COVID-19 has caused us to alter our typical ways of work. However, we know that connecting with our colleagues WHILE we gain new knowledge is the reason, we attend the conference. We know during our conference session how important it is to connect with other people, and although we cannot physically create that, we are hopeful that offering virtual sessions throughout the year gives you a silver lining of an opportunity to catch-up with your friends, make new ones and truly come together as a team of people dedicated to early childhood across the state of Arkansas.
A portion of our time during each event will be used to hear from our members to inform your association’s work now and in the future. We want to hear from you about the new ways we can adapt to support your essential work and professional growth. Other Saturday sessions will include great keynotes and celebrations of programs around Arkansas. We will offer these sessions free to all AECA members who have an active status. Members that register and attend these events live will receive PDR credit.
We are excited to announce that Ole Pete Key will kick off this series of events and we know that his message will inspire us during these uncertain times! Stay tuned to this page for more announcements. We look forward to you joining us in this endeavor! We are so excited, and we want to truly show that, “Teamwork makes the dream work” for the rest of 2020 and beyond! See you soon and stay safe.
AECA President, Gregg Cooper
